Showing 1-1 from 1 tours

Have you ever been to Acueducto de los Milagros?

This route transported the water from the Proserpina reservoir to Augusta Emerita. The work was underground until it reached a limaria pool or tank in which the water was decanted from the impurities it was dragging. From this point, there was a powerful arcade that saved the valley of the Albarregas River. Its slender arches were made combining granite and brick.

The water was distributed to the city after reaching the Castellum aquae, or water tower, located on Calvario street. This tower, located in the maximum kardo, one of the two main streets of the Roman city, presented in front of this road a great monumental fountain
