The Annapurna Base camp trek, also called Annapurna Sanctuary, is the most popular trek in the Annapurna region. The major high of the trekking is the visit to Annapurna Base Camp at an altitude of 4130m.

The trail passes through the forests of bamboo, oaks and rhododendron and beautiful Gurung villages of Ghandrunk, Chhomrong, and Dhampus. The landscape is dotted with farm terraces, monasteries, streams, lakes, and rivers. You will also make a side trip to Poon Hill (3210m), a perfect vantage point to catch Himalayan sunrise and sunset and a panorama of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna ranges and many more. You will also be able to enjoy hot spring at Jhinu Danda on your way back.

The trekking starts from the beautiful town of Pokhara where you will have plenty of time to relax before and after the trip. The best seasons to do Annapurna Base Camp trek is during Spring or Autumn when there is better visibility with sunny blue skies.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Your Arrival (1,350m)
Your arrival to Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA), you will be met by our Airport Representative, and transfer to the hotel.

Day 2: Kathmandu Sightseeing (1,350m)
We start our sightseeing tour after breakfast; we take you to the Swayambhunath Stupa (Monkey Temple) and Kathmandu Durbar Square where you will visit Kumari – the Living Goddess of Nepal, Legendary Kasthamandap Temple, Hanuman Dhoka Palace and many other shrines. You will proceed to Tour of Patan City to have a look and study many beautiful and interesting arts and architecture and historic and cultural phenomena.

Day 3: KTM – PKR Drive (1,350m)
Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara – 6 hours scenic drive by Private Vehicle.
Rafting:
3 hours rafting on the Trishuli river on the way to Pokhara: Starts from Charaundi and that ends at Kuringhat.

Day 4: Pokhara- Ulleri 2160m. 5 hours (2,160m)
We drive to Nayapul via the large village of Lumle and then start our trek to Birethanti, a large and prosperous town. Our path follows the main trail to Sudami where we climb steadily up the side of the valley, reaching Hile (1495m) and Tirkhe Dhunga before pushing on to Uleri, the large Magar village ascending a steep stone staircase.

Day 5: Uleri – Ghorepani ( 3 hours) (2,850m)
From the trail crosses a stream and then We trek through rhododendron and oak forests and across streams before making a short, final climb to Nangethanti. From Nangethanti we trek up to Ghorepani (2850m).

Day 6: Ghorepani – Poon Hill – Tadapani ( 5 hours) (2,540m)
We wake up very early and start our climb to Poon Hill (3195m). A brilliant spectacle, this vantage point provides an unobstructed view of the sunrise over the high Himalayas. From Ghorepani, the trail climbs along ridges and through pine and rhododendron forests to Deurali (2960m). We descend to reach Banthanti, then wind our way to Tadapani (2540m).

Day 7: Tadapani – Chhomrung (4 hours) (2,540m)
From Tadapani the trail drops down through rhododendron and oak forests, arriving at Chhomrung for lunch. Chhomrung is a Gurung Village, and the highest permanent settlement in the valley with a tremendous view across to Annapurna South and Machhapuchhare 6097m.

Day 8: Chhomrung – Himalaya (5 hours) (2,900m)
The trail descends via a stone staircase and then crosses the Chhomrung Khola. We climb to Sinuwa above the Modi Khola on its west bank, passing through forests of bamboo, rhododendron, and oak. The trail now climbs to Kuldi, before descending a long, steep, stone staircase to Doban.

Day 9: Himalaya – Annapurna Base Camp (7 hours) (4,116m)
From Himalaya, the trail climbs high above the river, on to the lateral moraine, and down the other side to the glacier. Walking up the bed of the glacier we arrive at Base Camp (4116m)
Lunch will be at the MBC. As the itinerary is flexible, we can stay here in case. It takes maximum 2 hours only.

Day 10: Annapurna Base Camp – Bamboo. 6 hours (4,200m)
We climb very early to the viewpoint of a stunning sunrise. After breakfast, we retrace our steps to Bamboo.

Day 11: Bamboo – Chhomrung – Jhunu Danda (5 hours) (3,500m)
From Bamboo, the trail descends a long, stone staircase through bamboo and rhododendrons forests to Kuldi. The trail continues through more rhododendron forest and down to Sinuwa. From Sinuwa the trail leads downhill to the Modi Khola, where we then climb steeply to Chhomrung. You will head Jhinudanda trek down for about an hour. You will relax in the natural hot spring here.

Day 12: Jhinudanda Nayapool 5 hours then 45 minutes then drive to Pokhara. (2,160m)
From Jhinudanda, we trek downhill through villages and terraced fields to Syauli Bazaar and on to Nayapul. Here we arrange transport back to Pokhara.

Day 13: Drive back to KTM (1,350m)

Day 14: Sightseeing in KTM and Bhaktapur City (1,350m)
We drive you to the Pashupatinath Temple the holiest Hindu Temple. Cremation of the dead body takes place on the banks of Bagmati River. Then proceed to the tour of the biggest of the Buddhist Stupa architecture. Erected in the 17th century and is believed to be a “must visit” pilgrimage site for Buddhist in their lifetime. Boudhanath area is densely inhabited by Tibetan refugees and carries the name as Little Tibet. Then after Sightseeing Tour of Bhaktapur City is just a 14 km east of Kathmandu. Bhaktapur means the city of devotees and is a center of pottery and intriguing masks. The major sightseeing places are, Durbar Square, of 55 windows, Nyatapola, Bhairavnath Temple, Dattatreya Temple etc.
