Albania offers visitors beautiful and interesting archaeological sites even as a small country . Butrinti is one of them and the most important archeological site in Albania, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1992. It has been known since the 7th century B.C., as the most important city of Epirus.
In the southern region of Albania along the banks of the Osumi River, you will find one of the most ancient towns in Albania. The innumerable monuments and characteristic architecture of the houses have proclaimed Berat, Kruja was the most important Balkan towns during the 15th century.
It successfully withstood at least three major sieges by the Ottoman Empire. The medieval hero Gjergj Kastrioti (a.k.a. “Scanderbeg”) had a base of operations there. You will see this and many more in this tour
- What Will You Do
Day 1. TiranaThe tourist group arrives in the Mother Theresa Airport. Transfer to Tirana by bus. Guided visits in: Scanderbeg Square, Ethem Beu Mosque, ex-residential area “The Block”, Pyramid, Historical parts of Tirana, Tabak’s Bridge, Historic Museum etc. Overnight in Tirana
Day 2. Berat
Departure to Berat-on the way to Berat we make a stop in Durres to visit the Roman amphitheater–In Berat we visit the Castle Berat, Onufri Museum and the EthnographicMuseum. Overnight in Berat.
Day 3. Vlora
Departure to the city of Vlora. En route visit Ardenica Monastery the archeological center of Apolloni and the monastery. Visit the Flag Square in Vlora and free time to swim. Overnight in Vlora.
Day 4. Saranda
Drive to Saranda through Llogara, Himara, Borsh-Time to swim and lunch in Himara. Visit Porto Palermo Castle. Guided Tour in the Archeological site of Butrinti. Overnight in Saranda.
Day 5. Girokastër
Travel to Gjirokaster and visit Shen Koll monastery-Mesopotam and Syri i Kalter.Visit of old center Gjirokastra, time-off–Overnight in Gjirokastra.
Day 6 Korça.
Travel to Korça –Visit the Ali Pasha castle in Tepelene. Picnic in the green near Erseka (on group expenses). Walk through the old city. Dinner at the hotel -Overnight in Korca
Day 7. Kruja
Departure from Korça to Kruja –Visit the Lin village and Lin’s Mosaic. Scenic route along ShkumbinValley –Visit Petrela castle-Visit the Historical Center of Tirana.-Dinner at the hotel. Overnight in Kruja.
Day 8. Shkodër
Departure to Shkoder and visit Rozafa Castle in Shkoder. Free time in the center of Shkoder –Lunch in Shkoder on group expenses. Visit Shengjin beach for swimming (time permitting). Overnight in Kruja

Visit the old bazaar and castle of Krujeas well as the ethnographic museum. Transfer to Mother Theresa Airport
