Excursion To The Rías Baixas With Boat Ride

We will have a guided visit through the historic center of Pontevedra. Its old town, one of the best preserved of Galicia, which is recommended even by the british newspaper “The Guardian”. We will visit the monumental complex of the medieval period, where stand the ruins of gothic convent of Santo Domingo. We’ll also remember the renaissance era, in the magnificent Square of the Blacksmith and the Basilica of Santa María La mayor, declared an asset of Cultural Interest.

After we will move to the port of the nearby town of Combarro. From here we set sail to start a boat trip on the ria of Pontevedra. On the journey we will appreciate the green landscapes of the coastline and the outline of the Island of Tambo, whose plantations of eucalyptus trees jutting out into the estuary. As we cruise we will enjoy a wine tasting with mussels, one of the most characteristic products of the area.

After docking at the port of Combarro will get prime free time for lunch in the town. In the afternoon we will move to O Grove in order to contemplate The Launched, one of the most beautiful beaches of Galicia.

Finally we will make a walking tour through Cambados, a coastal village on the estuary of Arousa. You will appreciate the details of the Church of San Benito and the Pazo of Fefiñanes, a XVI century palace that is home to amazing stories. From Cambados we will undertake our return to Santiago.
