Explore The Edo Town – Japan

You will explore the old Edo town called Sawara by bike, boat and walk. If you want to feel the atmosphere of old Tokyo, visit Sawara! This town resembles “Edo” (old name of Tokyo) of several hundreds years ago.

Tour Activities
1. Bike Tour along Tone River
Tone river is the second longest river in Japan. After cycling along the river, you will visit one of the oldest shrines in Japan called Katori Jingu. It is said that the shrine was built more than 2000 years ago.

2. Local Sake Tasting
You will visit the Sake brewery which was founded 200 years ago. The local owner will show you inside the brewery and you can taste different types of sake.

3. Enjoy exploring the traditional old Japanese town.
From Tone river, you will go on a boat to enter the old town Sawara. Sawara preserves Edo style architecture. The townscape of Sawara is designated as an Important Preservation Districts for Groups of Historic Buildings.

We will do the tour in rain or shine!
However, if it rains hard, we will take a bus to get to the shrine instead of riding a bike
