Your tour departs from central Barcelona, from which we will head for the village of Monistrol de Montserrat. From Monistrol we will take the “Cremallera de Montserrat”, a cogwheel train offering great views of the countryside and the mountain.

Once at the Monastery your guides will then transmit their passion and knowledge of the landmark to you – history, legends and the importance of this site in the development of Catalonia. After walking through the monastery, you will have some free time for shopping at the Farmer’s Market or taking a few pictures at the Stairway to Heaven.

It is now time for food and wine! Only a short drive away awaits Oller del Mas Cellar, located in a 10th century castle. Located in a 10th century castle at the feet of Montserrat, this ecological family-run winery is surely one of a kind. Upon arrival, you will enjoy a welcome drink with an artisanal cheese platter.

Your local guide will lead a visit to the vineyards, the old family cellar, and certain private areas of the castle. To end this perfect day, you will sample three château ecological wines paired with a local cold tapas lunch.

Memorable Tour minus the tapas

★★★★★ Reviewed by bella on 2019-10-21
the trip was very well organized and overall the tour guides were very friendly, well informed, know their history and helpful with a good sense of humor. I enjoyed the trip specially Monserrat the Monestary and the church at the top of the mountain. the Winery visit was magical by itself and the selection of wine provided was delicious. My only comment would be the poor selection of food that they presented to us, nothing special it was not really tapas style in my opinion and no taste at all. other than that i 100% recommend

Montserrat tour w/ wine

This tour was great fun. Ona was a delight. Her English was perfect and her enthusiasm contagious! The group was small (@ 10) so it was manageable. We were given plenty of free time once we received an initial orientation at the top of the hill. The winery was beautiful- we were able to sample three premium wines along with the delicious topas. I wholeheartedly recommend this tour and especially Ona who made it special.

Definitely a thing to do

Merci Sergio!

Excellent way to esacpe the busy city and see the beautiful countryside

We had Aurora as our guide and she was so knowledgeable and so fun too. We loved the cogwheel train, loved the 'free time' to explore the trails surrounding the monastery on our own, and loved the drive in the bus to the winery. This was a perfect day to see a different side of the Catalonia region other than the busy city center. Thank you Aurora!
