Begin our sightseeing day with a very pleasant moment! To get to the other side of the Tagus River, we will pass through the famous Lisbon 25th of April Bridge and will stop in the small town of Almada, where a noble statue of Christ the Redeemer stands with open arms, and protects and blesses the Portuguese capital. There is an observation deck and simply dizzying views, giving an opportunity to make the most beautiful pictures.

The next stop is the sunny town of Azeitão, which is located on the peninsula of Setúbal, where Muscat wines are produced. Nowadays, the most famous wine of this region is a Muscatel of Setúbal. Region is famous for its rich red wines and elegant white wines. Azeitão is the ideal place to taste and evaluate Muscat wines, local cheeses and sweets. We are waiting for the acquaintance with the history of winemaking in Portugal and visit historic wine farms: an interesting excursion to the Museum, where the first machine for wine bottling is displayed and the medals got in different years hung on the walls, the courtyard of the 19 century and, of course, wine cellar, where the Muscat wines are kept. There is a certain atmosphere: cool, dimly lit and … Gregorian chant, which complements the process of wine maturing. Next, the long-awaited part of the program is the tasting!

We walk through the park with peacocks, pass the town market and look into the Bodega to taste Alentejo wines and liqueurs, and in the souvenir shops we will evaluate the products from the bark of the Cork oak, the most unusual souvenir that you can bring back from Portugal.

Return to Lisbon is by the Vasco da Gama bridge, the longest bridge in Europe with a view on the modern district of EXPO 98.
