Get on a full-day excursion to the isle of Skye, starting from your accommodation in Inverness. Your sightseeing tour starts with stunning views of the castle and Loch Ness, to the Urquhart castle. The first real evidence of a castle dates back to 1230.

Then a small village 6 miles north of Fort Augustus. Most visited attraction is bridge build by Thomas Telford in 1813 and crosses the spectacular river Morrison water falls. This is where we then head west to continue our journey.

Eilean Donan is a small tidal inland where 3 sea lochs meet, Loch Duich, Loch Long and Loch Alsa the castle dominates this island about one mile from the village of Dornie a picturesque castle that frequently appears in photos, films and television. The castle was founded in 13th century and became a strong hold for the Mackenzie clan and now the Macrae clan. It was destroyed in 1719 by government ships. It is now one of Scotland’s top attractions.

The Cuillins mountain range dominates the landscape in Skye ranges The Black Cuillins and The Red Cuillins separated by the Glen Sligachan. The mountain range ridges contains 11 Munros and 16 other summits. (Photos from Sligachan bridge).

The largest town on the Island. Portree harbour was designed by Thomas Telford, surrounded by cliffs and across the bay the Island of Raasay can be seen. The name Portree comes from the Gaelic Port-an-righ which translates to king port and dates from a visit of King James V, in 1540. This is also where Bonnie Prince Charlie bade farewell to Flora Macdonald.

A bizarre and delightful miniature landscape of grassy cone shaped hills, sometimes spelt Faerie Glen. Fascinating place to visit and explore on a dry sunny day. A fairy-tale landscape. Breath-taking.

As part of the Trotternish Ridge it has been formed by a massive landslip which has created high cliffs, hidden plateaus and pinnacles of rock. Fantastic views to the east of Staffin village and over to the mainland.

Kilt Rock is a sea cliff it is said to resemble a kilt with vertical basalt columns to form the pleats and intruded sills of dolerite forming the pattern. As you look towards Kilt Rock you will see the amazing Mealt Water falls dropping in to the sea.

Lealt Falls is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Scotland. The waterfall lies in a gorge and has a new viewing platform. There is a second viewing point looking over the cliff tops and down to the ocean below.

On our return to Inverness we take the north route giving you the chance to see some new views and pass Loch Carron where there is a fantastic view point looking over the loch to Strathcarron and the amazing mountains beyond.
