Our 7 hours Monchique tour is probably the most comprehensive jeep tour that we have. It has a very strong cultural component and amazing landscape.
We will visit the Castle of Silves, taste Medronho and Honey, visit the Village of Monchique and climb to the highest point of the Algarve, always accompanied by stunning scenery!
We want to share our experience in driving 4×4 vehicles and, at the same time, getting to know landscapes that are difficult to visit otherwise.
We will transpose several obstacles while enjoying all the security and support that our vehicles and guides provide.
First we will explore the Natural Park ‘Sitio das Fontes’, followed by a tour along the River Arade all the way to Silves, which is the oldest town in the Algarve and where we will visit its medieval castle.
After lunch we will visit the Village of Monchique and then follow the terrain up to a distillery where we will taste strawberry rum and a honey.
Finally, we reach Fóia, located 900 meters above the sea level!
At the top of Monchique mountain, we can appreciate the exceptional view of the western Algarve and part of the vicentina coast with the Atlantic ocean as a background.
This is truly a breathtaking moment and worth a few minutes of contemplation!
We will then continue by off-road up to the Dam Oudelouca. It is a very quiet location with a beautiful landscape!
On the descent back to Portimão we take a different road from the way up. It has a lower degree of difficulty and we will use the roads used in the Dakar Rally on the occasion of their passage through the Algarve.
You will reach the Portimão certainly very satisfied and will repeat.
