Local Bike Tour! – Amsterdam

- What Will You Do

The first part of the tour is getting you comfortable with the basic rules of biking in Amsterdam. We will explain who has right of way, what to do at intersections with no lights, and how to swear in dutch when tourists step out in front of you. Once you have mastered the basics we put the methods you learn to test by riding from the bike shop, in the center of the city, to one of our four great neighbourhoods. In the North of Amsterdam you can take a ferry ride by bike to see the Amsterdam Tower. Or perhaps we will cycle to South Amsterdam and see the famous Albert Cuypmarkt. In East Amsterdam we point out the Zoo and the Resistance Museum, de Verzetsmuseum. Bike to West Amsterdam to a great park and perhaps catch a local craft market on the weekend.

- What To Expect

Please be aware that the weather in Holland is part of the experience when cycling. We suggest you plan like the natives and wear layers. The day can be sunny and rainy which means you could see a rainbow or two. We offer good ponchos if you need one to borrow. Our tours run unless the weather is unforgiving. In which case it is always wise to confirm if conditions are obviously unfavourable to biking.

If you are happy with the services provided by your local guides a tip — though not compulsory — is appropriate. While it may not be customary to you, it is of great significance to the people who will take care of you during your travels, inspires excellent service, and is an entrenched feature of the tourism industry across many Intrepid Urban Adventures destinations.

A full 24-hour bike rental. An English speaking local guide. Rain poncho if needed. Discount on extended bike rental over the one-day rental.
