Join us on this leisurely guided ecotour through the calm, clear waters of the Great Sandy Marine Park. You will be able to view the coral gardens from the comfort of the Milbi, one of Australia’s largest glass bottom boats.

We provide snorkeling equipment offering you the ultimate experience of coming face to face with the infinite wonders of the marine park. You are likely to see fish habitat amongst the coral reef, turtles, dolphins, sea bird colonies, and possibly a reef shark or dugong.

Listen to stories from the Dreamtime from our local Indigenous guide. Discover the ways of the oldest living culture on earth.

Time is afforded to explore Round Island and enjoy a healthy lunch. Conditions permitting we may visit spectacular Pelican Banks, famous for its crystal clear waters which are perfect for swimming or just relaxing on the white, sandy shores.

Whilst it is our aim to offer you the best marine excursion possible, please note that our Turtle Discovery Eco Tour inclusions may vary slightly to optimize the most favourable weather conditions for your comfort.

Departing daily at 10.30am from the Great Sandy Straits Marina Buccaneer Drive, Urangan and returning approximately 2.30 – 3.00pm.

Check in 20 mins prior to departure, office located next to Cafe Balaena.

This 4 hour ecotour is a very relaxed and beautiful day out on the water. Our Indigenous guides provides first hand knowledge of the Fraser Coast and it is here you will discover traditional fishing techniques, hunting and gathering methods and the history of the Butchulla people, our traditional land and sea Custodians.

What do I need to bring on the tour?
Sunscreen, hat, sunglasses (polarised are the best for on the water), camera and a light jacket.
What should I expect to see?
As we are entering a marine park, we cannot guarantee what you will see. However, the Great Sandy Marine Park is well known for its abundant marine life including tropical fish, dolphins, dugongs, sea snakes, seabirds, reef sharks and of course turtles.
Is there a shop onboard?
Yes. On the vessel we have soft drinks cans of beer or a glass of champagne for purchase. We accept cash or eftpos.
Do you cater for food allergies?
Yes, please advise at the time of booking of any allergies or intolerances and will be happy to assist your requirements.

Is the boat stable?
Yes the Milbi is very stable, surveyed for smooth / partially smooth waters makes her perfect for cruising the waterways of the Great Sandy Marine Park
What if the weather is not favourable?
Guests will be contacted in the case of inclement weather and provided the opportunity to reschedule.
What if I need to cancel?
We require 24 hours notice of cancellation for a full refund. There is a 50% cancellation fee for under 24 hours notice OR we can reschedule your ticket for another day. There is no refund issued once the tour has departed the marina.

Yes
Can I smoke onboard?
No smoking is allowed onboard the vessel.
Do you offer Private Charters?
The Milbi is available for private charter for up to 38 passengers or as few as 10. A private cruise on the Milbi is ideal for any special occasion such as a birthday celebration, corporate function, Christmas party or school groups. Cost vary depending on the size of and requirements of your charter. We will custom design your cruise to perfectly suit your needs. We can also organise catering for you.
