We had walked down the steps at Ponta da Piedade to view the rock formations, massive cliffs, caves and grottoes when it was low tide. We went quite early in the morning and it was breathtaking. A few days later we took the tour in a small boat (only 6 passengers) to view the massive cliffs and caves from the water. It was different but equally breathtaking. The tour was a wonderful experience. We recommend doing both.
