3 Days Rafting On Upper Budhi Gandaki

Budhi Gandaki starts on the eastern slopes of Manaslu and the Ganesh Himal. It flows south through a steep valley before joining the Trisuli river. The Budhi Gandaki is our favorite river as it still remains wild and therefore the exceptional river for rafting in Nepal. This river is passing through typical Nepali villages, provides amazing mountain views. It lies halfway between Kathmandu and Pokhara and yet it’s a mystery river!

The water is quite cold as it comes from the base of Mt. Manaslu, the 8th highest peak in the world. During the trip, you will enjoy every night campfire on the sandy beaches. The first two days rafting is very pleasant with lots of rapid watching the birds, monkeys and many more. Later as the river mixes with Trishuli it becomes the multiple river rafting opportunities. Itinerary:
DAY 1: After the 9 hours of morning drive from Kathmandu/ or optionally 5 hours from our camp by bus or private car, we will be reaching to Arkhet Bazaar of Gorkha. The road is bumpy so there may be lots of shaking 🙂 After reaching our starting point, we will prepare our boat for the next day rafting. Overnight stay at tented camp.

DAY 2: The next morning after breakfast, get prepared for great rapids. We will have about five hours rafting today. Lunch will be provided on the way. After the exciting day, we will set up camp on the sandy beach.

DAY 3: The next day we continue 4 hours rafting down the stream until our camp where the Budi Gandaki gets connected with Trisuli River. We will end the trip with a big campfire and barbeque at our camp.

DAY 4: Departure to the onward destination.
