Tour to Sete Cidades:
Visit to the pineapple plantations (with tasting of pineapple liquor). Carvão Belvedere with a breathtaking view to the central zone and the narrowest part of the island (8km). Belvedere with a view to one of the Natural Wonders of Portugal – Vista do Rei – the Blue and Green lagoons. Unique perspective of the Sete Cidades Lagoon, and trip down to the interior of the crater with a stop in the Santiago lagoon’s belvedere. Visit to Sete Cidades Village that includes a stop in the cafe near Blue Lagoon. Return to the hotel through the west coast of the island.
Tour to Furnas:
Trip along the south coast of the island with a visit to Vila Franca do Campo – the first capital of the island. Beginning the “gastronomic experience of the day” with a local bakery “Queijadas da Vila”. Visit to Vale das Furnas considered an authentic garden with its lagoon inside a volcano’s crater, with its thermal fountains and mineral waters (one of the biggest hidropoles of Europe). Stop by the lagoon to observe the preparation of lunch. Cozido das Furnas (traditional dish) prepared under the land with volcanic heat. Visit to Caldeiras (fumarolas) in Vila das Furnas, surrounded by over 20 mineral fountains. Traditional Lunch. After a delicious tasting of local vegetables and meats cooked in the heat of the volcano, we will visit one of the most beautiful botanical gardens of Europe – Terra Nostra. Here we can observe incredible avenues, trees and plants from all over the world, over 200 species of camellias and a large pool with hot thermal water rich in iron. On the way back to the city, stop in the Valley and Furnas Lagoon – Pico de Ferro. Visit the Gorreana tea factory. São Miguel is a unique place in Europe where we cultivate the factory produces green and black tea. Here we will have the opportunity to observe the whole process of production.
City Walking Tour:
In this tour, we invite you to stroll the streets of Angra, whose urban traces remain for more than four centuries, a fact that made it the first portuguese city classified as world heritage by UNESCO. Along the way, stories and legends of the city can be found, as well as the traditions and culture that gives it a unique character, while having your imagination tempered by bay’s sea breeze and the exotic scents of sweets and traditional cuisine coming from bakeries and restaurants, whilst the course through the harmonious streets reveals us a magnificent heritage, which does not go unnoticed to any art lovers.
Whale and dolphin watching trip with the possibility of observing some of the 24 species of cetaceans that inhabit the Azores seas. Currently one of the largest whale sanctuaries in the world. Among resident and migratory species, common or rare, the number impresses and accounts for a third of the total of existing species. We are in an ecosystem of unique characteristics. With presence of the majestic whales and the friendly dolphins, the blue of the Atlantic becomes even more magical and blessed around these nine islands.
Around the Island Tour:
Starting with a stop on Monte Brasil, a cone felled from an extinct volcano. It continues along the east coast of the island to the city Vitorino Nemésio, Praia da Vitória. Traditional lunch with drinks included in the “Moínhos” restaurant, located in the Vila de São Sebastião, inserted in an old water mill, very well preserved, in a rustic and modern environment, that still works during some days of the week. After lunch the next stop is a “village” finalist of the seven wonders of Portugal, the Biscoitos with highlight to the wine production area and its natural pools. The area of Biscoitos vineyards, where the presence of landscape and cultural values, in coexistence with ecosystems and natural habitats, in a traditional humanized landscape of high aesthetic and productive value earned it the classification as Protected Landscape Area, integrated in the Natural Park of Third.
The circuit continues along the west coast of the island, with a view to the raminho and stop for cheese tasting at the “Vaquinha” cheese factory. Return to Angra passing by the main fishing area of the siland, the parish of São Mateus. Its fishing port is the most important on the south coast of Terceira Island and one of the main points, unloading and first sale of fish from the Azores.
