At the heart of the Honey Trail are the encounters with local people and their way of life, allowing them to immerse themselves in the culture of Albania.
Compiled by local experts from a socio-ecological point of view, the Honey Trail offers a unique travel experience and at the same time supports beekeepers in rural Albania in setting up sustainable operations. Our offer also includes tailor-made all-inclusive and self-drive tours, beekeeping stays for honey harvest (farm stays) and day trips to beekeepers and beekeepers.
- What Will You Do
Day 1: Airport – TiranaHotel transfer, Tirana sightseeing with a local guide.
Overnight in Tirana
Day 2: Tirana – Ferma Bio Kuqi – Pogradec
Breakfast in the hotel. Today we travel toward Kuqi Bio Farm. After the lunch, served with bio agriculture products, we will head to Lin village, where will visit the mosaic on the top of the Lin peninsula hill.
Day 3. Pogradec - Lin - Korce
Breakfast in the hotel. Later we will drive to Morava Honey production unit and another beekeeper in Plase who deals with bee-breeding. After lunch we will drive to Korca city and will visit
the famous Korca bazaar and the Mirahor mosque. Dinner on group expenses.
Day 4. Korce - Permet Breakfast at the hotel. Later we will take the drive to Sotira Farm. On the way we will have the chance to immerse into the beauties of the nature, green fields and forests and the traditional living style of locals.
Day 5: Permet – Visit at beekeepers – Langarica Canyon – Permet We will start the day with the visit at beekeepers’ farms in the vicinity of Permet, where we will see how they have organized the colony of bees, how they produce honey and its by-products.
Optional: Next we will take the water sport activity of rafting in Vjosa valley and/or dive into Benje thermal springs.
Day 6: Permet – Lunxheria Honey – Gjirokaster – Blue Eye –Saranda Today we will leave Permet and head to Gjirokastra. On the way we will visit Lunxheria Honey Beekeeper and his production unit.
Day 7: Sarande – National Park of Butrint – Palase – Llogara Pass We will start the day by visiting the pearl of the southern Albania, Butrint National Park.
Overnight in Llogara Pass
Day 8. Llogara pass – Tirana Breakfast in the hotel. Later we will start the hiking in National Park of Llogara with a ranger and in the end we will enjoy the picnic lunch with a great sea view.
Day 9: Tirana – Mother Theresa Airport Breakfast in Tirana. We transfer today to Mother Theresa Airport where the tour ends.
