Chapada Diamantina: Day Trip To Sossego Waterfall And Ribeirão Do Meio

We will leave Lençóis in the morning and follow a high effort level course that lasts, on average, 2h30 and 7 km of walking, 14 km round trip. A good part of the route follows the riverbed, and we can also enjoy a delicious bath in Ribeirão de Cima, depending on the performance of the group’s walk. On the way, we will pass by beautiful viewpoints, trees and majestic stones, several opportunities for bathing and resting and continue on a stretch of stones on the river bed already inside the canyon, reaching the most rewarding part of the trail.

During the final route, we will be surrounded by a canyon about 20 meters high that will close as we get closer to the waterfall. When we get there, we come across a large well of dark waters and the incredible Cachoeira do Sossego, with its wall of several levels of plateaus and waters that seem to arise from the rocks. All this in the middle of an incredible canyon.

After enjoying the bath and relaxing a lot on the hot rocks, we will take the same trail back towards Ribeirão do Meio, a 10 meter deep well that has the famous natural toboggan run, in which it is possible to have fun slipping on the rocks until the well and spend a super nice afternoon in the middle of nature also taking advantage of other natural pools on site. After enjoying the attraction a lot, we returned by a light trail that lasts about 40 minutes, to rest in Lençóis.
