Crossing The 3 Cântaros – Serra Da Estrela

Day 1:

Departure from Lisbon at 15h.
Arrival to the campsite Pião (Covilhã).
Dinner in a typical restaurant .
Overnight stay on the campsite Pião.

Day 2:

After the breakfast we will go to the trail with the name of Major Trail.
Our first objective is the base of Cântaro Raso, where you can see the fantastic Santo António Valley from there summit. During this phase until the summit of Cântaro Raso, we gonna have in our left side the company of the great Valley Covão de Ferro. Other stories will reveal, just waiting for your visit.
At the summit of the Cântaro Raso, our next summit is the Cântaro Magro with 1928 meters of altitude. To get to the summit we will have to do a little climbing. We are going to put the harness and helmet so that the arrival to the top is made in safety.
Once at the summit, we will have a fantastic vision of 360 degrees on the unparalleled landscapes of Serra da Estrela.
Next summit is Cântaro Gordo. To get there we go walk on the superior plateau of Serra da Estrela until we reach the edge that gives access to Cântaro Gordo. On the summit we can observe the lone Valley of Candeeira, Covão Cimeiro, the Glacial Valley of Zêzere and our next objective, Covão D’ Metade. This amazing valley is the source of River Zêzere, and this beautiful place will be save in your memory for sure.
After the Covão D’Metade we will go cross the amazing Valley of Santo António and know the legend of the shepherd that saved his sheep by low the rock Poio of the Jewish.
After this beautiful valley, the next place is the mountain village Penhas da Saúde for another fantastic dinner. After dinner, return to Lisbon.
