Here’s your chance to see what everyday life in Chania, Greece is truly like. During this 4,5-hour walking tour you will navigate narrow streets and rub elbows with the locals as you pop into a few authentic spots in Old Town.
Your tour escort will take you and your small group to at least a dozen places where you can converse with town folk and sample traditional delicacies such as fresh tomatoes and olives, traditional round sesame bread and doughnuts with Cretan honey. You will also participate in a delicious wine tasting as you learn first-hand the traditions and customs of this beautiful country.
Your walking tour will allow you to view up close and personal this scenic port where old buildings, museums, churches and shops are all built close to the panoramic harbor. Throughout the tour you will have the opportunity to see a variety of sites as well as notable Jewish, Christian, Turkish, Greek and Venetian monuments.
During your walking tour we will stop frequently to talk with locals and have a sampling of local products and beverages such as, “koulouri”, “Kalitsounia”, “loukoumades”, “graviera”, “mizithra”, “ntakos”, “alatsolies”, “tsakistes”, “tsikoudia”, fresh tomatoes and local Cretan honey.
Towards the end of the tour will have the chance of Cretan wine tasting (4 different Cretan wine). Taste what Cretan have been producing for over 4.000 years.
