you will follow the Dudh Kosi River from the Sherpa villages of Namche Bazaar and Khumjung. This trek is less-traveled than the traditional route to Kalapathar and Everest Base Camp. The day hike up Gokyo Ri, 5360m, is one of the highpoints of the Gokyo Valley trek. From the Ri, you can observe the vast Ngozumpa Glacier and enjoy the panorama views of four of the world’s highest peaks above 8,000m – Everest, Lhotse, Cho Oyu and Makalu. Return to Namche Bazaar via the Sherpa villages of Phortse and the great Tyangboche Monastery.
The Gokyo valley trek is considered a typical trek and is suitable for everyone. If you are fairly fit and have a sense of adventure you will enjoy the Gokyo Valley trek. The Gokyo Valley trek is designed to acclimatize you gradually, so that you will not experience high altitude sickness.
