Situated on the right bank of the Douro River, near Porto, Porto is a city with a unique charm where the old one blends perfectly with the contemporary, cosmopolitan and intimate city at the same time.
Classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO thanks to its beautiful monuments and historic buildings, we began our visit by the ex-libris of the city, the Tower of the Clerics of Baroque style that dominates the old center of the city, being the highest of its kind in the country.
Close by is the renowned Lello Bookstore, one of the most beautiful in the world, being an unavoidable point of visit of the city.
Crossing the main artery of the city, Avenida dos Aliados, imposing on its architectural set, ” living room ” of the city.

At its northern top, the beautiful building of the Town Hall, we find the commercial Rua de Santa Catarina, the place to visit the Majestic Café, one of the most beautiful in the country, founded in 1921 and one of the most glamorous places in the city.
The imposing Cathedral of Porto, completed in the 13th century with beautiful carvings, paintings, sculptures, sacred art treasures and a Romanesque rosacea, is a fascinating monument of obligatory visit.
Then down to the river, we arrive at the Ribeira district, emblematic place of Porto, where we will find medieval alleyways and buildings and from where we can see the edge of Vila Nova de Gaia with the Port Wine Cellars, where we can taste this delicious wine and admire its typical ‘rabelo’ boats, which used to be transported from the production site, Alto Douro Vinhateiro.

Still on the left bank of the river, we climbed to the Monastery of Serra do Pilar, a World Heritage Site since 1996, and without a doubt the place where we have the most spectacular panorama of the city of Porto.
Crossing the Arrábida bridge, from where it is possible to glimpse a fantastic view of Foz, we return to Porto to visit the Serralves Museum, the most important museum of contemporary art in Portugal, where we can find, among others, an important exhibition designed by architect Siza Vieira, referring to six decades of the career of Joan Miró, between 1924 and 1981.
Following the long Avenida da Boavista, we arrive at Casa da Música, an imposing architectural work and one of the modern ex-libris of the city of Porto, being the first building built in Portugal dedicated exclusively to music.
” Old, Very Noble, Always Loyal and Invicta City of Porto ”. Unmissable!
