Rural Experience On Terceira Island, Azores

Rural experience not to be missed where we privilege an intimate contact between nature, culture and local everyday life. Starting with our bulls, one of the biggest popular traditions of this island, we go up to the field to see how they are treated and to know a little about the history of our famous rope bullfights. We value this experience with a visit to the tractor by the pastures where the animals will be treated.
Next, we will feed the sheep and the chickens, finishing the visit in the field milking a cow. Complementing this visit, we will end up at the Rattles Museum. This is an art that became the Intangible Heritage of Humanity being in the process of being extinguished, this Lord being the only one practicing this art in the Azores. The rattle is the object placed at the neck of the animals allowing the farmer to detect its location with greater ease.
