Discover the wonders of Portugal’s countryside on this private day tour to Mafra and Sintra. After being picked up from your hotel by your chauffeur guide, your will leave Lisbon behind in a comfortable minivan and head to Mafra, a traditional Portuguese town made of clay where you will visit the national palace, a jewel of baroque architecture, whose rococo style library is amongst the most beautiful the world. Afterwards, you will take a little stroll in the center. At lunchtime, you will experience the delicious Portuguese gastronomy in Ericeira, a charming seaside town famous for its seafood. After lunch, you will take a stroll in the little whitewashed streets. Then, you will head to Sintra, an historic town located atop pine covered hills and whose cultural landscape is part of the unesco world heritage. There, you will follow your guide for a commented visit in the impressive Sintra national palace (palácio da vila), most important medieval royal residence in portugal; browsing the different rooms, you will be amazed by their magnificent decor influenced by several architectural styles. Your guide will take you back to Lisbon at the end of the day. Please note: this itinerary can be adapted to suit your needs and interests.
