- FAQ

What is tandem paragliding?
A paraglider is a free flying, foot launched aircraft. A tandem paraglider is specifically designed to carry two people. The passenger is strapped into a harness in front of the experienced pilot. No experience is necessary, your pilot will do all the hard work, you just need to run on take-off then sit back and relax and enjoy the view, and don’t forget to smile for the camera.
Where do we fly from?
Tandem paragliding flights are from Lions Head and Signal Hill in Cape Town. Which site we fly from depends on the wind direction and wind strength. We cannot pick which site we fly from. It all depends on the weather.
* Where do we land?
From Lions Head landing is between Camps Bay and Clifton beaches on the grass in front of The Bungalow. From Signal Hill you will land at the famous Sea Point promenade opposite the Winchester Hotel.
What must I wear?
Closed shoes On a chilly day wear something warm, it can be freezing in the air Sunblock Sunglasses can be worn in-flight
*Is tandem paragliding dangerous?
Paragliding is an extreme sport, but you are in good hands with our pilots. All tandem pilots are highly experienced and TFI (Tandem Flight Instructor) certified by SAHPA (the South African Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association). Our pilots will only fly in weather that is safe to fly in. If other pilots are flying but our pilots feel it is notsafe to fly, we would rather schedule you for another day. Safety is key. Safety precautions include helmets, harnesses with back protection, reserve parachutes and careful pre-flight checks and pre-launch observation. You will be briefed before your flight, listen to your pilot, when you are told to run you must RUN, do not sit down.
Are there any refunds?
If you have paid in advance and we can’t fly due to weather conditions we will happily refund you in full.
How much does in flight photography and video cost?
R300 per person per flight (optional).
How do we get back to our car?
We will take you from the landing field (The Bungalow, Clifton or Winchester Mansions, Sea Point) back up to our original meeting point.
