In this tour we will go directly to the birthplace of the nation “Guimarães”, the one that saw the first king of Portugal born.
We will visit the castle used in times to protect the city, as well as the Patios of the Dukes where the royal family lived.
We will pass in the chapel of São Miguel where D. Afonso Henriques was baptized, as well as by the place where the battle of Aljubarrota took place.
We will visit the Oliveira, the width of the Toural and we will take advantage of this stop to make a stop for lunch, where we will delight with the typical dishes of this region.
After lunch, we will go to the city of the archbishops “Braga”, where on the way we will ascend Senhora da Penha where we can bid farewell to the city of Guimarães from its highest point.
Arriving in the city of Braga, we will visit its historical center and its majestic Sé Cathedral.
We will also pass through the gardens of Santa Barbara, where we will open the appetite for the wonderful tasting that follows the traditional sweetness of this city.
After the tasting we will continue now towards the Sanctuary of Bom jesus where we will make its ascent, through its famous elevator that is moved by water and we will take a walk next to the lake and caves.
Before ending the tour, we will visit a second sanctuary that is named as Senhora Do Sameiro, which will allow us to have a magnificent view over the whole city of Braga.
