Yangon: Full-Day Trip To Golden Rock Pagoda

Visit the Kyaiktiyo Pagoda, also known as the famous golden rock Pagoda, a well-known Buddhist pilgrimage site in Mon State, Burma.

According to legend, the Golden Rock itself is precariously perched on a strand of the Buddha’s hair. The balancing rock seems to defy gravity, as it perpetually appears to be on the verge of rolling down the hill. The rock and the pagoda are at the top of Mt. Kyaiktiyo.

In the early morning (around 8am) pick up from your hotel and drive to Kin Pun (base camp) where you will change from your vehicle to a truck which brings you up on a steep road to the top of the mountain. The truck ride takes approximately 45 minutes.

On arrival, walk over a large platform to the Golden Rock and watch the beauty at this important pilgrimage site. Usually the place is lively with many people coming to spend precious moments here. Lunch will be your own account.

After lunch, return with the open truck back to Kin Pun base camp, and re-join your car and driver. Drive back to Yangon. Upon arrival in Yangon and transfer to your hotel.
