Classified as one of the 7 Wonders - Beaches of Portugal, Odeceixe beach, located at the northern end of the county of Aljezur, has the particularity of containing a river beach, since it is limited to the source and to the north by the Ribeira de Seixe, which borders with the Alentejo. It has therefore sea and river baths. The river, which forms part of the largest hydrographic basin of this county, conditions the dynamics of that beach, not only because of the quantity of sediments that feed it, but also because of the flood power, which in very rainy periods can condition the shape and size of this beach Odeceixe Beach thus enters the end of a valley dominated by this river, culminating embedded between steep cliffs of schist and grauvaques, characteristic of this region. The beach presents a high quality landscape and biodiversity, being able to enjoy of a landscape of rare and enormous beauty of the top of the cliffs. These constitute a privileged habitat for birds, providing excellent conditions for bird watching, such as the white stork, the peregrine falcon or the red-billed crow. It is in fact in this Natural Park, the only place in the world where you can observe the storks that nest on the cliffs.
