- FAQ

What does “Appellation” mean?
An Appellation is used to identify where wine grapes are grown and define how wine was produced. The more specific the region the wine comes from, the better the reputation of the wine.
What methods of payment do you accept?
We can accept Visa, Mastercard, and Latipay methods including Alipay, WeChat Pay, JD Pay. We can also accept bank transfer on request (for large groups). Please email your request through our online enquiries form.
Where do you pick up from?
Our main pick up point is The Station Building, corner of Camp & Shotover Streets (on the Camp Street side). However, we can pick up from some central Queenstown accommodations, Frankton Rd, Arthurs Point and Arrowtown. Your exact pickup time will be confirmed at time of booking.
Is lunch or food included on your tours?
A gorgeous platter-style lunch, with complimentary glass of premium wine, is included on the Boutique Wine Tour at one of the wineries in the Cromwell or Bannockburn region. The full day Gourmet Scenic Tour includes 5 dishes cooked in wine barrels with matching wines and also includes a tasting of local cheeses and artisan chocolates. The Classic Tour (afternoon tour) includes an afternoon tea at one of the wineries in the Gibbston region.
Can certain vineyards to be requested to visit?
Yes, though we cannot guarantee, we always do all possible to adhere to our clients’ special requests.
What group sizes do you take on your wine tours?
On our group tours, we keep our maximum group size to 12 adults, ensuring a personalised and interactive tour. If you have a larger group who wish to take a private tour, we can accommodate parties of almost any size. Please contact us for a quote.
Which wine and grape varieties are popular in Central Otago vineyards?
Interestingly, an important step in the development of the Central Otago wine region was the realisation that classical French and German grape varieties also suited the Central Otago terrain, climate and soils. The principal grape varieties of Central Otago are Pinot Noir, Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris and Chardonnay – all of which produce excellent wines.
Which season is best for wine tours?
We operate all year round; fully appreciating Central Otago’s four stunning seasons. Though the weather does tend to be warmest and driest during the summer months, the spectacular colours of autumn and the snow-capped landscapes of winter are a sight not to be missed. Spring days tend to be crisp but lovely, with the remains of the winter snow still on the mountains, and the spring flowers coming into bloom. Who could choose?
