The Douro Valley, a World Heritage Site since 2001, is one of the oldest wine producing regions in the world and has unique landscapes and delicious treats ready to amaze its visitors. This region is home of the famous Douro wine, specifically the Green wine and Port wine, world-class olive oil and unmistakable culinary greatness.

Throughout our journey we will have the opportunity to experience the majestic scenery of the Douro Valley. As soon as we arrive we will sample the amazing treats that Douro has to offer: its famous almonds, its traditional bread and its peerless honey all paired with Douro wine.
Then, we will head to the Pinhão station, where you can see the history of Douro’s wine industry in typical blue and white Portuguese tiles. For those interested, you can go for an optional boat ride.
After, we will visit a family-owned winery with access to an exclusive lunch menu with several starters, meat/fish main dish and dessert all paired with white/red/port wines. After lunch we will have a Port wine tasting in which we will sample several different years.
Before arriving in Porto, we will visit Amarante, the heart of Green wine, for a final tasting of its treats.
- What Will You Do
- You will be picked up from your hotel in Porto between 8:30 and 9:00- Tour departs for the Douro Wine Region at 9:00
- Arrive at Douro Wine Region at 10:30
- In Pinhão, you'll visit to a local winery and taste some local wine
- Do a scenic cruise along the Douro River, from 12:30 to 13:30
- It's time to have lunch, and you'll eat a typical Portuguese meal
- At 15:00, we'll visit the Olive Oil museum and taste local snacks
- Then at 16:15 it's time to go back to Porto, first stopping at the belvedere to enjoy amazing views of the Douro and take photos
- You will be dropped off at your hotel around 18:00

Notre guide Julio a été tip top du matin au soir, il a su nous distraire et nous en apprendre beaucoup sur l’histoire de Porto et du Portugal tout au long de la journée avec un « français » de qualité. Nous ne nous sommes pas ennuyés un seul moment.
La qualité et la quantité des dégustations comprises dans l’excursion sont au rendez-vous ainsi que les plats qui les accompagnent.
Sans oublier les paysages et les décors idylliques !
Petit plus pour la dégustation de Vino Verde avec charcuterie et fromage à la fin du trip !

There is no way we could have covered more into our day and get as much out of 10 hours in the Douro Valley with amazing views, ellaborate lunch under a chestnut tree in a historical house next to the wineyard, 3 tastings including olive oil, and a boat ride on the Douro. The heart of the Douro Valley is 90+ minutes away from Porto and goes through a 6km tunnel. The drives up and down narrow streets that turn and turn would have been extremely stressful for me let alone the fact that you can’t drink and drive. Our guide Bruno insured we had an interesting day every step of the way with humour and facts without being overbearing over so many hours. The last tasting in the small historical city with green wine was a nice final touch on our way back to Porto. Would definitely recommend.
