In this guided tour dedicated to the Maritime Fortifications of Cascais that make up the Defensive System of Barra do Tejo it is proposed a linear pedestrian route of 11.6 km starting from the Citadel of Cascais and Fortaleza de Nossa Senhora da Luz passing through the Santa Fort Marta, Facho Vigil, Fort of Our Lady of Guia, Fort of S. Jorge Oitavos, Fort of S. Brás de Sansete, Stacks of Crismina, Galà © e Alto, Lighthouse of Cabo do Raso and finally Fort of Guincho where This day will end.

Throughout the centuries, several military structures were built on the coast around the entrance of Barra do Tejo, in order to prevent the landing of enemy troops and attacks by pirates and corsairs. A course with more than 500 years of history, always accompanied by the magnificent landscapes of beaches and landscaping interest such as the Dunar Guincho / Oitavos System
