São Miguel Island: Half-Day Canyoning At Ribeira Dos Caldeirões

This adventure begins with a trip of about 40 minutes on the island of São Miguel, first crossing from the south to the north coast, where you can see vast green fields divided by walls of volcanic rocks.

On the north coast, stunning views of the high cliffs and a unique view of the oldest tea plantation in Europe – Gorreana.

We will then arrive at the Ribeira dos Caldeirões Natural Park, one of the most popular places in the Northeast region, with its splendid and diverse green vegetation, clear and fresh waters that create beautiful waterfalls and the tranquility of a magical place.

Last but not least, old water mills, which will take you back in time.

The activity begins with the distribution of equipment to participants, followed by a short walk of about 20 minutes, to the point of entry into the stream, where the safety briefing takes place.

Along the way there are vertical challenges (waterfalls) which will be transposed using the technique of abseiling (largest waterfall has a height of about 8 meters), alternating with small pedestrian stretches and a more playful area (slide and a jump with about 5 meters in height).
