What do I need to wear ?
You will need to wear covered shoes or boots suitable for walking on bush tracks, long trousers and a long sleeved shirt.
Bring a hat and a warm, waterproof jacket in case the weather changes. You will be advised of any other special clothing you may need to bring in the Tour Description.
What do I need to bring ?
Any medication you may need during the day and an EpiPen if you have one prescribed.
Day Pack, camera, binoculars.
Are food and drinks included in the tour price ?
No, food and drinks aren’t included in the tour price, unless specifically stated in the Tour Description; so it is recommended that you bring a packed lunch, drinks and snacks with you, or we can stop at one of the rural towns along the way to purchase lunch. The bus is equipped with an esky and cooler bricks to keep food cool until lunch time.
What happens if the weather is bad ?
Eco Tours Tasmania management will plan their tours around seasonal weather patterns, but on occasions tours may need to be altered to suit the weather conditions.
Will I get a refund if a tour is cancelled ?
Eco Tours Tasmania management will do all that it can to minimise disruptions to its tour schedule, but on days of extreme weather, tours may be cancelled for safety reasons. If a tour is cancelled you will receive a full refund.
What fitness level will I require ?
Average fitness levels are required for most tours. If a higher level of fitness or mobility is required, this will be noted in the Tour Description.
Please contact us prior to booking, if you have any concerns around your level of fitness for the tour.
Can my children come on a tour ?
There are legal restrictions to carrying young children in the bus and most tours aren’t suitable for children under 14 years old.
What is the usual group size ?
Eco Tours Tasmania has a 10 seat Mercedes Benz mini bus, so the maximum group size is 10 people.
How much luggage can I bring ?
Unless stated in the Tour Description, there is room for 1 Day Pack to be carried in the Luggage Compartment and 1 small hand bag in the bus.
Can I take photos of the orchids ?
Generally the answer is yes, but depending upon site conditions and access to the orchid, photo opportunities may sometimes be limited. A set of high quality photos of the orchid species seen is available for all orchid tours.
Will I see a Thylacine ?
Probably not, although we live in hope.
