As “Portas de Ródão” constituem o ex-libris natural de Vila Velha de Ródão, onde o Tejo, o mais importante rio da Península Ibérica, corre entrincheirado entre gigantes quartzíticos.

Classificadas Monumento Natural a 20 de Maio de 2009, as “Portas de Ródão” constituem um lugar único pelos seus valores geológicos (garganta epigénica de Ródão), paisagísticos (Serra das Talhadas, sítio Natura 2000), arqueológicos (Complexo de Arte Rupestre do Vale do Tejo, estações de Vilas Ruivas e Foz do Enxarrique, Conhal do Arneiro), históricos (Castelo de Ródão, monumento nacional classificado) e biológicos (flora autóctone, e mais de 170 espécies de fauna, algumas raras em Portugal).

As suas escarpas, vestidas de urze, alecrim, giesta e zimbro, acolhem espécies de avifauna ameaçadas como a cegonha-negra, o bufo-real e o abutre-do-Egipto, além de uma colónia de grifos que sobrevoam, imponentes, as Portas, às horas quentes do dia.

I would expect Experitour to do that since they were the company that received my online booking information. When I eventually contacted the Vintage Car Tour company, they initially had no record of my reservation. They were eventually able to find it, but I had to remind them that I went through Experitour. Not sure whose fault that was. These are minor details, but they prevent me from providing a 5-star review."
