After the storm, the calm. With the return of summer heat, we went to welcome the bathing season with an incredible boat tour and Stand Up Paddle ride.

The longing to live together and the longing for the Algarve paradise ended with a tour from Portimão to Benagil.

The day started at the marina in Portimão where we got on the boat to begin with the tour. The destination was the caves of Benagil, but we almost forgot about the whole wonderful coast all the way there.

Already on the boat, we changed between standing looking at the coast and the sea, feeling the breeze of the wind, and sitting in the shade, talking and observing the landscape. Both so nice on such a hot day!

The beginning of the season always has something that amazes us, year after year: how incredibly paradisiacal the scenery looks! The water has that color that we can never tell if it is green or blue, but that we agree on the happiness and peace it transmits to us.

After a few minutes of enjoying and discussing the beauty of the Algarve’s nature, we arrived in the Benagil area. When we arrived, we couldn’t say how long the trip from Portimão lasted, only that it was short for how good it had been. But now the other part would come.

The guide who introduced us to the coast along the journey began to prepare the boards and paddles so that we finally dedicate ourselves to the Stand Up Paddle. We then went to the sea!

It was difficult to choose whether we would ride in the SUP a little longer, or if we were going to immediately see those so unique rock formations. The SUP tour was good, but we wanted to enter the cave! We went with the camera in our hands, ready to shoot as soon as we got there.

But we forgot how impossible it is not to be paralyzed looking at the cave for a few minutes. Then, the photos. And here’s a tip: don’t worry if your photographic skills are not the most accurate, it is impossible to take a bad photo in that place.

Then back to the Stand Up Paddle, from cave to cave, each more beautiful and fascinating than the last. The feeling is that there is nothing better than what we are doing in the moment. On a board, gently paddling between caves with really impressive rock formations!

We were back on the boat for the return trip. While the guide was tidying the boards, we imagined the pleasant wind of the moderate speed of the boat. We talked about the various areas we passed by during the tour, with special emphasis on the Carvoeiro area, which we agreed to be one of the most beautiful ones.

It was impossible not to talk about that experience for the rest of the day and recommend it to everyone. If you like the sea and what nature has to offer, you must take this tour!
