Victoria ist ein Bundesstaat in Australien, in der südöstlichen Ecke des Landes. Seine Hauptstadt, größte und am dichtesten bevölkerte Stadt ist Melbourne. Geelong ist Victorias zweitgrößte Stadt, Ballarat ist der dritte und Bendigo der vierte.

Ende 2015 betrug die Einwohnerzahl Victorias schätzungsweise 5.996.400. Nach der britischen Niederlassung in Australien im Jahr 1788 wurde es der Port Phillip District von New South Wales genannt. Im Jahr 1851 wurde es eine unabhängige Kolonie. Es wurde nach Königin Victoria benannt. 1901 wurde es ein Staat in Australien.
