What is the Clean & Safe Stamp? COVID-19 And Tourism In Portugal

The initiative was launched in April 2020, and encourages travel agencies, accommodation and tourism companies to raise awareness of compliance with hygiene and social distance measures, in order to promote Portugal as a safe travel destination.

The Portuguese government acted quickly when the first cases of COVID-19 appeared in the country, launching containment measures, encouraging social isolation and the use of masks as advised by the World Health Organization.

This quick action by the Portuguese government allowed Portugal to gain a few meters in the long run against the virus, as the country can now gradually return to normality.

So, these days, having this stamp is synonymous with security. All establishments that bear the respective stamp are considered, by the responsible authorities, as perfectly prepared places to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Remember to respect the health security measures advised by the World Health Organization.

The high number of establishments that already have the Clean and Safe stamp reflects the reality of Portugal as a safe place to mark your holidays. In the same vein, the Portuguese government also admits that Portugal is, at this moment, a safe destination and one that best handled COVID-19, and that this translates, for example, into the high amount of tests it performs daily.

Therefore, you already know: give preference to establishments with the Clean and Safe stamp that gives you guarantees of a place with high levels of hygiene. Although the situation regarding the pandemic slowdown is improving, security is never too much!
