Wat Phra Kaew or the Temple of the Emerald Buddha (officially known as Wat Phra Sri Rattana Satsadaram) is one of the most impressive and important Buddhist temples in Thailand. The temple is located in Bangkok, within the limits of the Grand Palace, and attracts more and more tourists every year. Famous for its incredible statue of Buddha, made out of a single block of emerald, the Wat Phra Kaew temple also contents a large gallery with detailed mural paintings telling the epic story of Ramayana and many chedis covered with glazed tiles and gold leaves, a spectacle of a sight. The Phra Sri Rattana is the tallest golden chedi and the tourist's favorite spot for a picture, also found on the one baht coin. One of the hidden wonders of the world.
