Today we went to Lagos, more precisely Ponta da Piedade.
It was an excellent day with blue sky and very little wind.
The first impression was that we were in the middle of summer such was the amount of people that were in the beautiful beaches.
The number of boats that decorated the transparent waters by the coast was such that I was dazzled by the image of joy and prosperity that this framework provided.
With a unique cut, that part of the Algarve coast, touched by transparent waters, allows breathtaking images.
The tourist attraction of that area results from facts that nobody dares to answer.
That blue sky touching the emerald green water and the golden sands is breathtaking to anyone even if it is not there as a tourist. Going to Lagos or passing by requires you to take a look from the top of the cliffs, even for half an hour.
The images we post here prove it.
Note, for example, the amount of kayaks that can be fixed with a click from a camera. An operator told us that by day there are more than 400 people in the water enjoying the beauty of the coast. The tours to the caves, the largest and also those where the boats can not go are today one of the biggest attractions of Ponta da Piedade. We had the opportunity to verify that the operator had scheduled visits of 90 people from a single group. This demonstrates well the attraction that this modality represents.
But as the images that we leave here bear witness, there are many ways to take nature lovers into the paradisiacal scenery. The boat trips in Lagos are required.
They all make stops to take a dip in the crystal clear waters, thus taking advantage of the opportunity to be in one of the most beautiful places on the Portuguese coast, doing what many only imagine or come in the movies.
Whether it’s a kayak tour, a boat trip , or a tour by foot through the cliffs, it is worth spending some time in this magnificent place.
We descend the staircase that in Ponta da Piedade allows us to reach the level of the sea. Just out of curiosity we count the stairs when we climb them. It’s 170!
I got my legs to shake for a couple of hours, but it was worth it!
The activities that we can develop in Lagos to occupy a day are very diversified. In addition to boating, kayaking tours , walking tours, and others on or near the water There is also the extraordinary opportunity to see all this from the sky during a hot air balloon ride.
Helena, an experienced pilot of hot air balloons , is based in Lagos as well and provides baptisms Hot air balloon flight which, for those who like to get up early and not afraid of heights, are a great way to get some wonderful pictures and have an unforgettable glimpse of the landscape of the region.
It’s really worth to go to Lagos !
