Vinho Verde Private Wine Tour – Wine Tasting, Ancient Towns And Local Delicacies

At 09:00AM, your private driver-guide will pick you up at your accommodation to take you on a discovery day into the world of the traditional Vinho Verde and local delicacies. The morning will start with a visit one of the oldest Portuguese sponge cake factories, Pão de Ló. We’ll learn about this ancient tradition that goes back to the 18th century and visit their facilities, where Pão de Ló is still produced the old fashion way. This visit wouldn’t be completed without a tasting of this special cake, so soft that will blow your senses away!

Afterwards, proceed to Amarante, a small town in the heart of this wine region, where you’ll have the opportunity to visit the Church of St. Gonçalo, the local patron saint, stroll around the old city center, enjoying the sights and stop for a taste of the local pastries, created by the nuns in the past.
Lunch will be on a traditional tavern, where some ham and cheese tapas will be served, always paired with Vinho Verde, of course!

In the afternoon, our driver-guide will take you to Quinta da Aveleda, the main Vinho Verde producer, and a true gem in the heart this region. Here, a guide of the estate will take you on a visit to the romantic gardens, where you’ll find century old trees, beautiful flowers, small cottages and swans. a true delight!
At the end of the visit, you’ll be taken to the tasting room, for a taste of some of their wines, paired with cheese, also produced in the farm.

Return to Porto where our driver will drop you off at your accommodation.
