Machame (“Whiskey”) Route is also known as the “Whiskey” route, the Machame route is now the most popular route on the mountain. Compared with Marangu, the days on Machame are longer and the walks are steeper. The Machame route is considered a difficult route, and is better suited for more adventurous folks and those with some hiking or backpacking experience.
The minimum number of days required for this route is six days, although seven days is recommended.The Machame route is scenically beautiful and varied.

- What To Expect
Our groups are limited to only 15 climbers. We don’t believe in creating large trekking parties as it detracts from the experience. Keeping the party small creates an intimate setting on the mountain, but more importantly ensures proper attention for each and every climber. Group trips are guaranteed to depart, regardless of the number of climbers. Your trip will never be canceled, and you will never be asked to pay more, even if you are the only person booked on the climb.- What Is Included
-2 transfers to and from the Kilimanjaro airport.-Government taxes and park fees.
-Transfers to and from the route gate(s) (2 transfers).
-Adequate and appropriate number of guides, porters, and cooks for your group.
-Sleeping mattress pad(s), dining tent(s), sleeping tent(s), and crew’s equipment.
-2 nights in a hotel in Moshi on a Bed & Breakfast basis and Double Occupancy.
-3 full fresh meals daily. (we also consider your choice of food that you would prefer -Vegetarian and Non-Vegetarian).
-Portable toilets for the trek with the tent for Kilimanjaro trek.
-Emergency evacuation covers AMREF Flying Doctors for Kilimanjaro trek.
-Chief guide carries a Pulse Ox meter, used to take blood-oxygen level readings of clients twice a day.

-Compulsory tips for guides, porters and cook.
-Entry visa for Tanzania (US$50 per passport holder for most nationalities / US $100 per visa for USA passport holders).
-Health requirements (Yellow Fever – only compulsory if you travel to Tanzania via a Yellow Fever infected country, Meningitis & Hepatitis A remains optional but comes recommended).
-Optional but highly recommended travel and medical insurance.
-Personal hiking/trekking gear – you could rent some of the gear in Tanzania.
